IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATED TO COMPLETING A ZONING AND/OR CONSTRUCTION APPLICATION.

The Burlington County Health Department Requires All Applicants Who Have A Septic System and/or A Well Who Are Seeking Construction or Improvement Work to First Apply to The Burlington County Health Department.  This includes additions to your property, sheds, decks, patios, pools, additions, etc.

You must first obtain approval for your project from the Health Department prior to submitting for zoning approval.  Contact the Health Department at 609-265-5515 for information on their requirements.  Once you have received approval from the County Health Department, submit a copy of that approval with your zoning application.  Please be advised that your zoning application will not be considered without Health Department Approval.

The Zoning/Code Enforcement of the Chesterfield Township is responsible for regulating and enforcing Chesterfield's Township's Zoning Ordinances which have been established to ensure the proper use of land and to protect the integrity of the Master Plan. The department is also responsible for maintaining Block and Lot files which contain copies of all Zoning Approvals as well as all documents (plot plans, surveys, permits, resolutions, etc.) that are submitted along with Zoning Permit applications. When a resident misplaces his or her survey, the Zoning Division Office frequently is able to provide a copy from the Block and Lot files.The  Zoning/Code Enforcement office is responsible for regulating and enforcing Chesterfield's Zoning Ordinances which have been established to ensure the proper use of land and to protect the integrity of the Master Plan. 

The Zoning/Code Enforcement Division is headed by the Township Zoning Officer, who is charged with reviewing applications for Zoning Permits and granting or denying such permits in accordance with Township Zoning ordinances.
